Tango
thursdays are back!
The Thursday night Tango dance has returned, in a very special new
location: Il Bistro Restaurant
in the Pike Place Market. Il Bistro is one of the most romantic, gorgeous, and charming restaurants imaginable, nestled under the main entrance of the Market off a crooked cobblestone alley. Think of a cross between Rick's Cafe from Casablanca and Confiteria Ideal in Buenos Aires, and you have Il Bistro. Evan has been wanting to host a Tango dance there for over eight years, but had to wait for a change in ownership to make it possible.
Dancing will start around 10 p.m. and go until
1:30 a.m. The cozy dance floor is hardwood and perfect for Tango.
Some people reported that the
floor was sticky at first, but
waxing has fixed that. A
late night menu
is served until midnight, and the full bar (with the best collection of single malt scotches in the city) stays open until 2:00 a.m. Parking is plentiful in and around the Market, or you may use valet parking if you so choose.
Cover charge is $5. DJ Evan will be spinning the tunes with all-new tandas, oriented towards traditional musical fare with a few surprises thrown in later in the evening.
Please come join us for an evening of friends, laughter, food, Champagne, and, of course, Tango. See you there!
